The Department of Turkish Language and Literature gives four years of undergraduate education followed by MSc and PhD degrees. The principal aim of the department is to analyse the literature scientifically by emphasizing author-work-reader and society relation. Original sources for literal history and to examine the documents are shown. It also aims to examine the subjects of literature and to supply the students with the necessary information and skills to deal with the original texts of literal history. It has 12 academic staff with research interests in Turkish language, old Turkish Literature, New Turkish literature and folkloric literature.
