Department of History
 

History department aims to familiarise students with the experience of past generations from antiquity to present times. The program concentrates on the history of Turkey with emphasis on interdisciplinary comparisons within the broader context of World history. Within this framework, the program introduces students to the principles, disciplines, and skills essential for the successful practice of the historian's craft. The program includes courses from the fields of economics, law and sociology to enable students to obtain a more comprehensive analysis of the past. The Department of History offers specialities in Antiquity, Turkish History, Modern History and History of the Turkish Republic.The program prepares graduates for a wide range of careers in archives, media, manuscript libraries, and, if they successfully complete the requirements The Ministry of Education, in secondary education institutions as teachers
