The aims of the Department of Psychology are (a) to offer undergraduate and graduate programs in psychology; (b) to conduct research in psychology; (c) to give courses to students of other departments to enlarge their understanding of psychology. Department offers courses leading to the degree in bachelor of science in psychology and the degree of master degree in developmental psychology. The undergraduate program is designed to provide students with must courses including the processes of emotional, social and behavioral and with elective courses contributing to the determination of expertise in future. The graduate program in developmental psychology aims to facilitate for benefiting from theoretical and methodological knowledge bases in developmental psychology. Graduates from the department can work in hospitals, counseling centers (e.g., health centers of universities), nursery schools and higher level schools, research institutions as a psychologist or teacher or counselor, or can assume administrative and research positions at certain ministries (e.g., mental health section of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Justice and Turkish Radio Television).
